You set the policies:
What we’ve historically done with other schools (and what seems to work best) is that we let the University set the policies that make sense for their school. More specifically, you decide when users have to get their content off an account before it is closed. Is this 1 week post-graduation? 6 months post-graduation?
Next Steps for the User:
Migrating to Reclaim: We try to make the migration process for students is quite simple- they can sign up for a shared hosting account at Reclaim Hosting and then put in a support ticket to have their data migrated. This works well for us since we manage both servers and can do that easily.
Migrating Elsewhere: Alternatively, they can take a full cPanel backup and move elsewhere.
Feel free to use this language to provide an explanation of the process.
Next Steps for the School:
Once the student’s account has been migrated off the DoOO server, the account can be removed from the server & deleted in WHMCS. This is something that you’re welcome to do on your own or request assistance from Reclaim Hosting.
In the event that you’d like Reclaim to help with account termination, send a .csv file with the list of accounts to be terminated.
If you wish, we can also suspend an account without terminating the content. This works well for the scenario in which a student says “Oh my account is suspended, but I wanted to move it.”
